To Support the Whole Child

Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child

The Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) model was created by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and endless health and educational professionals to be a model of an ideal whole child approach to education. The model focuses on combining the influence of the community and other social determinants of health factors to establish the most successful framework for helping youth be their best selves.

For more information, please visit the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child webpage on the CDC’s website, where they provide a short video explanation of the model. Included on the website is a Virtual Healthy School, where one can navigate through the links to see how they’ve applied the WSCC framework. Additionally, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development has a detailed explanation that can be found here.
